Overview and Information for Taking the Exam
| Prerequisites |
There are no prerequisite requirements, qualifications, or work experience to take the exam. As a general guideline, we recommend candidates;

| Number of questions | 60 |
| Exam duration time | The total duration is 90 minutes (80 minutes for taking an exam, and 10 minutes for administrative work, including examination explanation and signing NDA). |
| Pass line | A score of approximately 60% is required to pass the examination. |
| Testing style | Computer based testing (CBT). An examinee answers approximately 60 questions online using a computer. All questions are multiple-choice answered by using a mouse. There is no hands-on certification test or interview. |
| Exam date/place |
Select a desired date and location freely from various parts of the country when you apply for the exam. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes. The actual duration of the exam will be 80 minutes since you will be required to sign the "Non-Disclosure Agreement" and to answer a simple questionnaire after the exam, which takes about five minutes each. Contact the following test center for details of exam date and place. |
Once You Acquire Certification
When you pass "ACCEL", it means you are certified as "ACCEL Certified Professional".
Receiving Your Certificate and Certification card
Once you have passed the exam, you will be automatically notified by email, at the email address you provided when you obtained your EDUCO-ID.
If you have not received such an email within 2 weeks of passing the exam, please send a message to us.
In your message, please state your EDUCO-ID and the date(s) and locations at which exams were taken.
Within 3 to 4 weeks of receiving this email, you will receive, by post,your paper certificate and plastic card (Certification card).
Congratulations!
These will be sent to you three weeks after taking the exam.

"ACCEL Certified Professional"
Active certification status (Recertification policy)
There is no validity period, but there is an "active certification status (recertification policy) ".
To RETAIN an ACTIVE certification status, a certification holder is REQUIRED to recertify within 3 years from the certified date.
About "Recertification Policy"
Once a person is certified by LPI-Japan and receives a certification designation (ACCEL), to RETAIN an ACTIVE certification status, a certification holder is REQUIRED to recertify within 3 years of the certification designation.
Recertification requires that the individual candidate passes all up-to-date exams that are only required for the highest earned certification designation. After successful recertification, the designation status will be updated to ACTIVE for a period of THREE years.
